A Berkshire wedding at Ufton Court

Sarah & Jon’s wedding story

It’s always nice to shoot somewhere new so we were particularly pleased that Sarah and Jon asked us to photograph their wedding in Berkshire. It’s is a little further than we have photographed before but they particularly liked our natural style and thought we would capture their day as they wanted.

Our day started at St Mary's Church, a short distance from where Sarah grew up and where her parents still lived. This had great meaning to Sarah as this was the church she went to as a child and was even a member of the choir.

All the gents looked very dapper dressed in top hat and tails, although best man Steve always seemed to be carrying all the hats.

Groom Jon was very calm as he greeted everyone at the church before taking his seat to await the arrival of his bride. Following an emotional ceremony, the bride and groom led everyone outside. The congratulations when the bride and groom are just married make such lovely photographs and the church certainly made for a beautiful backdrop.

After some group photographs and the confetti we moved on to Ufton Court - a beautiful Elizabethan Manor House. The bride and groom arrived in style in a silver Mercedes before joining their guests for drinks and canapés.

Jon’s speech was full of heartfelt praise for Sarah and best man Steve got everyone laughing. Finally, all that was left for us to capture was the first dance, and as a surprise for Sarah, the song was sung by her sister and bridesmaid Jayne. It was very emotional for Sarah and lovely end to our day.
